It has recently come to the attention of several city residents that the City of Mt. Washington does not permit the keeping of chickens or egg-laying fowl in the city limits. With the clarification of councilmembers and the city attorney, the ordinance has been interpreted as the outlawing of chickens and egg-laying fowl within the city limits. Within reasonable terms, the signature of this petition supports the amending of the ordinance to allow chickens and egg-laying fowl within city limits, with respect to the currently enforced nuisance ordinance, supporting cage and pen cleanliness.
