Sanction BOYS High School Volleyball in MN!

The Issue

The MN Boys High School Volleyball Association started in 2018, and has been running a boys high school volleyball league ever since.

This league started off with 22 schools and 400 boys, and has grown to be 56 schools/cooperatives and 1400+ boys from all walks of life.  Boys are playing volleyball in southern MN schools, throughout the metro, and up into communities north of Duluth.

At our peak prior to the pandemic, the league had 57 schools.  A first-ever state tournament was in 2019 with Andover as Champion and St. Paul Harding Runner-Up.  Over 2000 people attended the 2 day event in Shakopee!

After the pandemic pause of 2020, the 2021 State Championship ended with Andover as the repeat champions and Eden Prairie as the runner-up.  Again, over 2000 people attended.

The MSHSL Representative Assembly voted on the official sanctioning of boys volleyball proposal as a MSHSL sport on May 11, 2021. The vote failed to achieve super-majority approval by 2 votes, and had to go back to the beginning in Fall 2021.

The sanction proposal is back on the table for the MSHSL Representative Assembly vote on May 10, 2022.  There are 54 programs -  126 Varsity/JV/JV2 teams and over 1400 boys wanting to play volleyball for their high school.

Please support MN BOYS with the opportunity to play the same game their sisters and friends play....to play for their own high school.....to play the second-most played sport in the world!

Let's ADD BOYS VOLLEYBALL as an official MN High School sport for 2023-24!
