MSDB Students Deserve Better: Demand the Resignation of the Current MSDB Administration
The Issue
We are calling for new leadership at Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and Blind because of ongoing concerns raised by students, families, alumni, former educators, staff, and stakeholders, including:
Lack of qualified leadership
Inadequate American Sign Language access and bilingual education
Declining educational quality and student services
Loss of experienced educators and staff
Reduced trust, transparency, and accountability
Failure to prioritize the unique needs of Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, Deaf-Plus, and DeafDisabled students, and students who are Blind and visually impaired.
Our goal is simple: ensure that every MSDB student has access to a language-rich, culturally affirming, accessible, and high-quality education under leadership that puts students first.
We call for the immediate resignation of:
- LaMarlon Wilson, Superintendent
- Dr. Marquita Roberston, Assistant Superintendent
- Kim Patton-Swims, Curriculum/Lead Teacher
- Frank McGriggs, Special Service Coordinator
- Mary Sneed, Test Coordinator
- Jarvis Robinson, Associate Administrator of Student Engagement and Discipline
- Lakesha Doyle, Principal
- Paula McCain, Principal
