Low wage earners need help to live a dignified life in Singapore. A minimum wage will ensure a fair living wage where they will be able to live that dignified life. A minimum wage will ensure that anyone who works will earn a fixed and fair wage per hour. The artificial inflating of productivity numbers and GDP numbers at the expense of cheap, exploited labor must stop. Low wage earners must not be used or exploited so that productivity and GDP numbers look good. The true cost of labor must be reflected to ensure fairness for all employees and the real state of the economy.
