The Issue

Our children deserve stability, guidance, and continuity in their education. Recently, a beloved teacher — who has shown incredible dedication, care, and effectiveness in supporting her students’ learning and growth — was abruptly removed from the classroom in the middle of the school year, while the other party involved in the conflict remains employed.

This decision was unjust and does not align with the vision of Valdosta City Schools, which is:

“To prepare students to pursue infinite possibilities for the future, with a focus on student and staff success through achievement, well-being, and performance.”

Since her return from maternity leave, this teacher has helped students make measurable progress academically, emotionally, and socially. Her sudden removal has caused confusion, distress, and a loss of the stability and support these children depend on.

We, the undersigned parents, community members, and supporters, respectfully request that she be allowed to finish the remainder of the school year with her students. Removing a teacher who has demonstrated excellence and care in the classroom directly contradicts the district’s stated mission and undermines the very well-being and success of the students they serve.

Our children deserve better. Let her finish the year with the students she has dedicated herself to.
