Stop the DMCA takedown of the Bukkit and Spigot Minecraft Server platforms.

The Issue

On the 3rd of September 2014, Mr Wesley Wolfe submitted a DMCA takedown against the Bukkit and Spigot minecraft server platforms. Mr Wolfe was one of the original bukkit developers, and when Mojang accquired it he left the team. However, he issued his DMCA takedown on the grounds that it is his work, however, to quote Vubui (The COO of Mojang) "...we believe that Wesley has no right to prevent the continued use of his contributions to the project – which he gave freely, knowing them to be subject to applicable open source licenses. We believe these licenses continue to bind all those who contributed to the Bukkit Project."

Mr Wolfe also claims that Mojang support his petition, quoting Vubui again "Wesley Wolfe has mischaracterized and misrepresented the position with regard to the Bukkit Project & Mojang. It has been unfairly suggested that Mojang is in some way behind his request that CraftBukkit is taken down (the fact that he quoted a small part of an email I sent him in his DMCA takedown has been taken as some sort of endorsement of his claim). We want to make it clear that Mojang is not responsible and has no liability whatsoever in regard to these claims. " Mojang agree that Mr Wolfe has no right to takedown the Bukkit and Spigot projects and his allegations are wholly unfounded. He cannot do this.

So we want to make a stand. I'm calling on Mr Wolfe to remove his DMCA takedown, allowing Minecraft's multiplayer servers to function again without obstruction.
