I’m reaching out with an exciting opportunity to honor a truly remarkable member of our community, Tiny Hernandez.

Tiny has been more than just a local sports hero—he has been a cornerstone of Roseville for decades, someone who has earned respect for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. Born and raised in Roseville, Tiny’s love for his hometown and its people runs deep, and his contributions over the years continue to leave a lasting legacy.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Tiny dedicated himself to nurturing young athletes and fostering a sense of community. He managed and coached both Little League teams and soccer teams, guiding them to success while instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship. His influence extended beyond coaching, as he is a respected mentor and a family-oriented man known for his integrity and kindness. 

Tiny’s dedication to our community extended beyond sports. For 20 years, he worked as a custodian at Roseville High School, where he became a beloved figure to countless students. Known affectionately as Mr. Hernandez, he touched the lives of so many with his kind-hearted nature and genuine care for others. His students remember him not only for his work but also for his warm, helpful spirit and his ability to make everyone feel valued. His impact at the school continues to live on in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his time at the high school, Tiny worked for 20 years at the Roseville Railroad. His commitment to his job and his community continued to shine through, and his contributions at the railroad were just as significant as his other roles. Tiny’s work ethic, loyalty, and positive attitude made him a respected member of both the Roseville Railroad team and the larger Roseville community.

Tiny’s deep commitment to his family is at the heart of everything he does. The values he embodied—love, respect, and dedication—are now carried on by us, his family, as we proudly continue the traditions he instilled in us. His legacy lives through the generations, strengthening the bond we share and ensuring that his spirit remains at the center of our family’s life. Yet, his impact is not just limited to his own family—his guidance shapes the lives of countless young people in the community, leaving a positive influence that many still carry with them today.

To recognize his extraordinary contributions, we are starting a petition to name a park or street in Roseville after Tiny Hernandez. This tribute would celebrate not only his dedication to local sports but also his deep roots in our town and his lifelong commitment to those around him.
