On 31 January 2021 Egnatia aviation flight training college located in Greece reported that an aircraft  used for training purposes type Diamond DV-20 with the registration “SXABP” piloted by Iraqi trainee Ammar Ibrahim has been missing, three days later the trainee was found dead in his crashed aircraft.

According to the regulations stated in International Civil Aviation Organization annex 13 of Chicago convention 1944,the civil aviation authority in Greece must initiate an investigation immediately after the catastrophic accident.

The Iraqi civil aviation authority did not received any declaration from its Greek  counterpart about the accident causes or any further procedures or invitation to participate in the investigation “if they already initiated one” and all of that is a clear violation of the aforementioned regulations.

In addition, the flight college “Egnatia” has failed to reveal details about the catastrophic accident and its causes ,yet its continuing her activity normally  and not even received any notice from the Greek authorities.

Regarding that the trainee was given permission to fly “solo” in a severe weather conditions which made it difficult to rescue him and lost his life due to mysterious circumstances ,we the Iraqi trainee family, his colleagues,Iraqis pilots and officials and experts in aviation safety demand the head of the International Civil Aviation Organization Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, the European Aviation Safety Agency which is responsible for aviation safety on the EU territory and the Greek flight college to initiate an investigation and reveal the facts about the catastrophic accident involving the Iraqi pilot in order to compensate his family and protecting other trainees life.
