Stop Act H.R. 1226

Despite the alleged deal with Mayor Fulop's office, there's a growing controversy about how it was struck. Attorney Platta has serious doubts with regards to the new location for Katyn memorial. He confirmed on his Facebook that the planned rally for today at 3 PM is to go ahead. He wrote on Facebook adding the picture (in this newsletter): “PLS SHARE! New location for our Katyń Memoriał - on top of this sewer release. NO DEAL!!!!!!!!” Later on attorney Platta said: "Tomorrow (Sunday) at 3PM we meet at Katyn memorial where I will thank Polish community and organizations for defending the statue..." He also confirmed that the rally permit has not been withdrawn by the Council hence is absolutely legitimate. A victory has been claimed over Katyn Memorial dispute with Mayor Fulop last Friday but there a question to be answered. Who is the victor? Why there are so many alarming voices coming from many people? On Friday Richard Boggiano - Ward C Councilman wrote: „This morning I am receiving calls from residents of JC on the sellout by the Council General from Poland and others. One person told me the JJ states the mayor as saying WE WON. What you have done is shown the city, state, and others that Jersey City is run by a bunch of out of towners who have money to influence what was once a great city on the West Bank so Alexander Hamilton turn over in your grave and watch the show. Also, the city council has to vote on the move because the Statue was brought here by ordinance and resolution. So let's see what our yes council does.” Moments later Mr. Boggiano also added: “I just spoke to the Consulate General and he told me some top Polish person made a deal. I just want to let all the Polish and others know that you have been sold out. This is a disgrace that everyone was not included and those involved in moving the Statue should have been told to take a walk. Barbara Bromirski would never stand for this.” Surely there is something not right when the Mayor and other "deal" participants talk about issues that concern all Jersey City residents without any consultations. Looks like we need to continue with our action and watch very closely the developments. From all your comments below the petition, all the voice very clearly state that the statue should remain in its current place as it became over the years the landmark of Jersey City.
