MMTS Boarding Problem In Secunderabad Railway Station

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

There are 10 platforms in Secunderabad Railway station of south central Railway. After getting down from the trains, passengers prefer to go their destinations in the city by the local train MMTS. The ticket counter for MMTS is in between platform 6 & 7. It is convenient for the passengers to purchase tickets and board MMTS in platform 6 or 7 as they are adjacent to each other. But MMTS apart from platform No 6 and 7 sometimes come on No 4, some times on 8 and sometimes on 10. Announcement for the arrival of MMTS and platform No is done with a very short notice. Sometimes announcement is done while the train is touching the platform. If it is 6 or 7 it is alright but if it is 4, 8 or 10 then passengers have to run and climb the staircase and get down at particular platform and run in hurry-burry to board the train as it stops far away from the staircases.  Boarding MMTS has become very problematic, risky and unsafe particularly for senior citizen, physically handicapped persons, patients, children, pregnant ladies, baby carrying mothers, passengers with luggage who come from long distance trains etc . So to avoid these risks passengers are forced to search alternative arrangements like taxis, cabs, Autos, Bushes etc. The purpose of providing MMTS to facilitate passengers are also not solved. More over railways is losing income too.

So to overcome the above problem, through Change.Org, I request Railway Authorities to take steps as below:

1)      See that MMTS comes only on 6 & 7 No platforms.

2)      If it is not possible then

A)     Announcement has to be done well in advance regarding  its arrival and the platform No.

B)      An Inquiry counter also has to be provided on the particular platform. If it not possible at least a black board has to be provided near the ticket counter to give information about the MMTS arrival and Platform No, as some times announcement is not clear. It is not understood by everybody.

        3)  See that MMTS stops near the staircase, not at the end of the platform.
