Dear Sir/Madam,

“GAVRILO PRINCIP”

 

 

We are writing to you to most strongly complain and most strongly object to your participating in the re-writing of the history of WW1, and the real political events that lead to this most destructive world war.

 

 

 

We call for your program to be withdrawn on the ground that it is likely to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate persons of a Serbian heritage in Australia, as you are implying and alleging that it was Princip’s Serbian ethnicity as distinct from his Yugoslav stance or being an Austrian citizen or classified as a Bosnian from Bosnia that was important, and that it was this ethnicity that has caused the Great War, and caused Australian lives to be lost. This is very wrong. Morally we also call you to account.

 

 

 

It is well known that Austria at the time had not long previously occupied and then annexed the region of Bosnia & Hercegovina, and was actively pre-planning war against its southern neighbour.

 

 

 

It is Austria, and its ally Germany, who carry the responsibility for the start and consequences of this Great War. Serbia was attacked and by the end of the Great War had lost about one third of its population and about half of its male population. The Austrian atrocities against civilians were well documented by Dr Archibald Reiss.

 

 

 

If your program is simply to participate in the re-writing of history, to gratify one line of current German sensitivities, to wash and remove the German responsibility for WW1 & WW2, then this is what you will be remembered for.
