Allatoona Lake concerned citizens request a seat at the USACE meeting table
The Issue
There are over 20,000 Lake Allatoona residents and users, and over 150,000 tax payers who reside in the Lake Allatoona vicinity. The civic leadership of Lake Allatoona and local engineers and design professionals, in the interest of the residents and users, request to have direct representation (a seat at the decision maker's table) at all of the meetings conducted during the USACE Allatoona Lake Water Supply Storage Reallocation Study and flood storage analysis project, from July 2018 through its completion in 2021. The residents and users of Lake Allatoona and its surrounding area should be a key stakeholder in the analysis, study, development, and approval of the alternatives to meet the State of Georgia's water supply request; the outcome may impact future water levels, water quality, the local economy, recreational use, and many other aspects of life at Lake Allatoona.
