Track and Field is a sport of diverse skill levels and it is important to have coaches who are able to train athletes in all types of events. If a coach position is cut at Clarkstown North the athletes will be losing their distance coach and at Clarkstown South the athletes will be losing their sprinting coach. Athletes will not be able to receive the proper training needed to perform successfully.

The elimination of a coaching position in each school will, in fact, result in the reduction of team size. Since Track and Field has been a sport that has given all students the opportunity to participate, the reduction in coaching staff will lessen this opportunity for many.
