In protest of removing monuments a group decided to deface murals in Chicano Park today. They were met by a huge crowd and luckily the area remained peaceful. This reminds us that there is a significant inequality being played out across the nation. Those who celebrate slavery and succession want their monuments to remind you that people of color should be slaves. We believe they shouldn't. That all men are created equal. That each of us has the right and opportunity to happiness just as much as any other. Please keep this drive alive and help remove this hateful monument. There is no reason to celebrate slavery, slave holders or traitors who ended up killing many of their own and many defending our constitution.
