"BABY HORSES" - TWH are started under saddle in the Fall of the Year. Many are 17 - 19 months of age.
The Tennessee Walking Horse breed is the ONLY equine breed in American which allows the showing of "BABY HORSE" Two Year Olds with approximately EIGHT POUND shoes and CHAINS hitting the sensitive skin above the horses' front hooves.
A Two Year Old Horse is the equivalent of a 15 year old child.
MTSU (Middle Tennessee University) Horse Science Professor Equine Vet Dr. John Haffner said the "Big Lick" is Animal Cruelty. "It is a business built on the suffering and pain of horses. It is a pain induced gait.
