It's true we have had the Local Elections and the EU Elections and both main Parties fared badly and Nigel Farage has claimed victory with his Brexit Party.
However he did not beat the combined votes of those Parties who were clear about Remaining in the EU or in favour of a public vote now that we know so much more about the damaging effect of Brexit for the UK.
The D Day commemorations reminded us of the value of collaboration and cooperation to achieve far more than we could alone.
We should not forget that the precursor of the EU was started to ensure that after two devastating wars, the countries who worked together would not fight each other again. The veterans of the 2nd World War who are now in their 90s or even 100+ showed comradeship with old friends but also with those in the opposing forces. We must not let them die in vain.
Attending the D Day commemorations with President Trump was Mrs. May's last public act as she had officially resigned on Friday 7th June 2019. She will act as caretaker Prime Minister until the Conservative party elect their new leader, who will also be Prime Minister until the next General Election.
The number of Tory MPs who have declared that they are standing as candidates has been variable, but those who are front runners have been campaigning hard.
Donald Trump said he favoured Boris Johnson and Brexit.
Boris Johnson is favourite and although a judge agreed that there was a case to answer, that he had committed misconduct in public office by lying about the money we pay to the EU, the High Court said it was insufficient to convict him.
Dominic Raab has said that he will suspend Parliament in order to prevent opposition to a No-Deal Brexit.
Michael Gove admitted he used cannabis on several occasions when he was a journalist, but now regrets it, Rory Stewart says he once smoked opium but supports a further public vote before Brexit.
We await developments.......
