Dental health should be included under Medicare

The Issue

Dentistry needs to be included under Medicare.

Even with Dental hospital assistance  it is still too expensive for the average person on Centrelink benefit to afford the gap fee.

I was awarded a voucher for new dentures, but because I have implants in my lower jaw the gap was going to be around $2,5oo.

I am on a disability support pension and do not have that kind of money just laying around.  I know  am not alone.

Others cannot afford their first pair of dentures, while those on low incomes cannot afford to even see a dentist.

Dental health is vital to our overall health as everything we eat passes through our mouth...if full of cavities, then the person is being constantly poisoned every time they eat.
