We have submitted a petition for regulation change to the California Fish and Game Commission and it has been accepted.

We are expecting the Commission to act upon our request at their August 24th meeting - meaning they will either deny or grant for further consideration.

Ferrets are legal in 48 states.  None of the concerns the Fish and Game Commission has expressed over the years have never materialized.  It is time to change the regulation in California to be in line with the rest of the country.

Our goal is to show why it is in the Fish and Game Commission's best interest to quit wasting resources on the ferret ban and to build good will with the pet owners of California.  We are going to advocate the same restrictions that were in our ballot initiative:

• Not allow breeding of ferrets, only sterilized ferrets legalized.
• $100 one time license fee at the time of purchase to discourage impulse buying and fund local animal control agencies.
• Some sort of rabies vaccination schedule - to be determined
