Wal-mart currently have basic tattoo equipment on sale through their online website, www.wal-mart.com at ridiculously low prices.

The sale of specialized equipment to unlicensed persons of ANY age is irresponsible and dangerous, and stands to jeopardize the integrity of licensed artists.

The very reason why tattoo artists require licenses is to keep the general public safe from common blood borne disease and infection, (not to mention the reassurance that a licensed professional has had extensive training so not to cause irreversible damage to your skin.). Without correct training, a person using this equipment poses a very real (and illegal) threat to the public and their self. 

Another concern is anyone of any age can purchase these items. Most states have an age regulation on permanently altering your body, and making these items so inexpensive means anyone with an allowance could potentially buy and use these machines.

We request that wal-mart remove these tools of our skilled trade off their inventory for the public safety and to keep tattooing clean, professional, and adult!
