John Rhodes started this petition to Mr. Daniel Snyder and

Dear Mr. Snyder,

We, the passionate and pain-stricken fans of The Washington Redskins, respectfully and sincerely ask you to sell this once glorious and proud franchise. Since your purchase of The Redskins in May of 1999, we have now endured a twenty year ownership tenure during which we’ve experienced an overall record of 139-185-1, 8 Head Coaches, a severe decline in attendance, a deteriorating and inconvenient stadium, no true General Manager, a lack of public interaction from you and your Front Office and extremely questionable optics that have caused embarrassment to Redskins fans.

Mr. Snyder, we believe you sincerely care about your beloved childhood football team, The Washington Redskins. We believe you have tried. We believe you and Mrs. Snyder have done many impactful philanthropic acts within our community.

However, Mr. Snyder, your highly accredited business acumen must allow you to recognize the truth. This business venture, as it relates to the fans, has been a failure. While most business failures come with the loss of money, the sale of The Washington Redskins would net you a substantial and arguably historic return on your investment. In this regard, from a purely business perspective, you could call this a success and walk away knowing so.

Mr. Snyder, this petition is a heartfelt plea that is addressed to you, the National Media, the NFL and it’s Executives. If you choose to ignore this petition, it assuredly will not go quietly without attention. We mean you no harm and we thank you for all of your efforts. We simply ask that you display your care for The Washington Redskins by doing the right thing...sell the team Mr. Snyder.

Sincerely,

The Washington Redskins Fans
