Andrew Jones MP must represent constituent’s views & reject the triggering of article 50
The Issue
The role of an MP is to represent the views of the people who voted them into their responsible jobs.
The House of Commons code of conduct advises members shall base their conduct on a consideration of the Public Interest, and in any conflict between Public and Personal interest shall resolve this in favour of Public Interest.
The people of Harrogate & Knaresborough voted to remain in the European referendum. We believe that disregarding this mandate from his constituents would mean the triggering of a damaging bill.
We recognise that it is a brave choice to put duty to constituents before party loyalty but we call on our MP to do just that.
The views of Harrogate and Knaresborough constituents must be represented in the upcoming vote by rejecting article 50 and remaining in Europe.
