Most restaurants big or small have resorted to making water bottles as the only option for drinking water. Water bottles are also sold more than MRP and in addition attracts service charges. This adds up to plastic wastes all over the city and also puts consumer at loss. Suggestion is to mandate Hotels and Restaurants to install RO water and serve purified water as a default option for its customers. The cost of the same should be recovered via service charges already charged to customer. Service should not be considered complete without providing water for customers eating in the restaurant. Local purification of water will be easy on the planet instead of manufacturing and transporting water bottles from a centralized facility.
