Another Win For UPPCO Ratepayers

Due to multiple factors, including our opinion at the court hearing that ratepayers are entitled a refund just like Enbridge, there has been a breakthrough. I met with UPPCO VP Brett French recently he informed me of a upcoming 6% rate reduction for residential customers and a 13% reduction for small business. This is not a huge break but a win nevertheless with more help in the near future, such as what are the details for reductions for residents and businesses on the coming 14% Federal Corporate Income Tax reduction. UPPCO filed impact filing with MPSC on January 19. UPPCO has commissioned a feasibility study with Michigan Tech University to look at being a willing partner with Community Solar Projects. We also discussed Net Metering. There is a plan being considered which would raise the 1% cap. Another possible victory on the horizon.
