A few weeks ago I started this petition in relation to defecting MPs seeking by elections to legitimise their new position. In the chaos of #Brexit momentum has slowed, however a HUGE 123,000 people have signed to say they agree. We are calling on Parliament and our leaders (Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn) to change the law, so that defecting MPs must return to their constituents to seek ratification for the decision they have made. Including those within The Independent Group , whom many who have signed have listed as their motivating factor.

MPs must receive and maintain the support of their constituents to be legitimate. Continue to sign and continue to push to make sure this undemocratic loophole is sealed shut.
