The issue

At present, we as a society are becoming more aware of the corruption, cover-ups and malpractice performed by Family and Community Services. We urge all who view this petition to read the comments to gain some perspective.

With the recent disturbing revelations of the tragic case of Girl X, the general public is now beginning to understand what many others already knew - our child protective services are unjust, corrupt and held entirely unaccountable.

One of the main reasons this is not addressed is that case workers and other staffers of FaCS are advised by their legal team not allow their calls to be recorded or monitored. This leaves parents, carers, wards of the state, care leavers (former wards of the state) and concerned members of the public unable to prove what FaCS says or does through correspondence.

When FaCS staff have the smug safety in knowing they can say and do as they please without any means of being caught, those in contact with them are suffering.

The public should be able to hold FaCS staff accountable for their actions by having solid proof by means of personal recordings.

If there is an issue with transparency, we must ask ourselves what are FaCS afraid of?

Please sign this petition to ensure that all calls, meetings and other correspondence that FaCS has with the general public is given total transparency. Help hold FaCS accountable for their actions and malpractices.
