On November 21, 2016 at the 7:00 pm meeting at the Civic Hall we are having 4 delegates appear before Council to lay out the opposition to the biased Engineering report https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApPAM3Xr8ig6mDsEami7jRXl6XGB presented to council in October by the Township Engineering Department. The delegates will also be commenting on the air quality and noise pollution effects of a busy road on the health of those living adjacent to the road and they will be commenting on the proximity of the two schools to a road whose traffic load will increase from a few hundred cars per day to an estimated 22,000 trucks and cars per day. Please plan to attend to show support for our delegates and to demonstrate to Council that we are not giving up on opposing the interchange. Governments will listen if enough people show their displeasure, but it is up to us to let them know that their plan is flawed.
On November 22, 2016 between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Langley Events Centre (banquet hall) the Township is hosting an open house for the draft Williams Neighbourhood Plan. Williams is the community immediately south of the highway and is the driving force of the 216 interchange project. The area is destined to be turned into a truck friendly light industrial park. Please attend and express your displeasure at the location of the interchange. While Williams is another area of Langley, what our government wants to accomplish there will affect us in Walnut Grove.
