The devastating Dunwich Heath fire has destroyed one of our most precious wildlife habitats, making it more important than ever to protect what remains of the Suffolk Coast. 

Following this fire, we call on the Government to relocate LionLink and SeaLink landfalls and associated infrastructure to suitable brownfield sites. Both schemes would pass through or beside protected nature reserves, adding to the impacts of Sizewell C on wildlife, landscape and communities already struggling with major construction works.

The Suffolk Coast is not just a beautiful landscape; it is a nationally important haven for wildlife. Reserves such as RSPB Minsmere support exceptional biodiversity, including rare birds, reptiles and invertebrates, built through decades of conservation work. The devastating Dunwich Heath fire shows how fragile these habitats are and why every effort must be made to protect what remains.
