To anyone who missed it, on March 27th, Amy, the National Day Calendar CEO, responded to my request.
"Jaclyn,
Thank you for the information. We have reviewed your request. Unfortunately, we will not be changing the date of the National Spray Tanning Day at this time.
Sunless, Inc. submitted an application to National Day Calendar for National Spray Tanning Day. They selected the 3rd week in March as their celebration date. The company went through the entire submission process to have their observance added to the calendar. We agree there was a National Spray Tan Day, but Sunless, Inc. requested National Spray Tanning Day. We did our due diligence research, which included verification of legal aspects and agreed the name of their day could be accepted.
Because Sunless, Inc. is a client of ours, it would be poor business ethics to go around them and change the date without their approval and consent. Our obligation is to protect the integrity of Sunless, Inc. and their National Day. Moving the date for an outside source of their organization would be a breach of contract between National Day Calendar and Sunless, Inc. My recommendation for you is to work with Sunless, Inc. to change the date. If, at some point, Sunless, Inc. agrees to your petition, they would need to reach out to National Day Calendar and complete the process to change the date.
I hope this information answers your questions/concerns. Good luck in your endeavor.
Amy
