Henok has been my best friend and confidant since day one of school. Every day, we’d catch up before class started, sharing jokes and keeping our spirits high for the school day ahead. However, Henok was recently moved to the front of the class for chatting with me before the lesson began. This decision feels unjust and entirely unfair.

Henok is a diligent student who excels in his studies. His behavior has never disrupted the class. The minor interaction we had before lessons helped us both to focus more during class time. It was an innocent conversation between friends that should not have resulted in his seating change.

Seating him at the front feels like an unnecessary punishment. Our school prides itself on its community spirit and supportive environment, and this move stands contrary to those values. Henok deserves to start his day positively, without feeling singled out or punished for simply being friendly. The back of the classroom offers him comfort, and comfort is crucial for learning.

Beyond the personal grievance, this is also about fairness for everyone in our class. We need to advocate for an environment where spontaneous and friendly interactions are seen as part of a healthy social dynamic, not something to be penalized.

Let's urge our school administration to reconsider this decision. By sharing our personal stories and standing together, we can foster a learning space that respects and appreciates the diverse ways in which we find comfort and focus.
