Petition updateStop the privatization of Mountain Equipment Co-opOur First Day in Court

Hi everyone -

Today we went to court in British Columbia to pause the sale of MEC and give us a fair chance to SaveMEC.

We don’t have a decision yet. The court has adjourned for the day and there will be more arguments tomorrow. This is potentially a good sign. It means that our request will be heard, and debated, seriously.

And we are very serious. So far, we’ve received offers of over $100 million in financing, loans, and investment... and we expect to get more. But none of this will mean anything if we don’t secure the time we need.

That’s why we need everyone to keep the pressure on RBC. Tell them that all we want is for them to extend their loan for just a few weeks to give us a fair chance to keep our Co-op.

Reach out to your family, friends, colleagues, neighbours — anyone at all who will listen to you — and ask for their help to keep MEC here in Canada by sending a letter to RBC at www.SaveMEC.ca.

More updates to come.
