Hi everyone

We were back in court in British Columbia today and can report that no decision has been made yet on the sale of MEC.

The co-op sector associations got their chance to speak in court today about the nature of co-operatives, and made a case that they are different from other kinds of businesses.

We are pleased that the court heard arguments from both the MEC members and the co-op sector at large, among the other stakeholders represented.

We will head back into the hearing tomorrow afternoon. We are serious about providing viable alternatives to the Kingswood deal, and are asking for time to pull it all together.

So much work is already underway, we have received offers of over $100 million in financing, loans, and investment... and we expect to get more. But none of this will mean anything if we don't secure the time we need.

You can continue to put pressure on RBC. Tell them that the SaveMEC plan includes paying them their fair share, all we need is for them to extend their loan for just a few weeks to give us a fair chance to keep our Co-op. >> www.savemec.ca
