In current standing, it is unlawful to produce any amplified music, at any time in Mount Pleasant.  We feel that this ordinance is outdated and should be amended to allow amplified music during reasonable hours.

The businesses on Shem Creek cultivate so much for the town of Mount Pleasant, stemming from the tax dollars from the businesses on Shem Creek, and the overflow business that the surrounding businesses receive.

Moving forward, no amplified music seems very excessive to a very important, and essential area to the success of Mount Pleasant.  We would like to amend the ordinance to allow a specified time frame that amplified music is allowed.  Live music is a vital key to the food and beverage establishments on the creek.  Having live music at 6 in the afternoon is not excessive.  It is ridiculous that one or two individuals that continually complain, over rule the hundreds, at times thousands of people spending money and having a great time on Shem Creek.

We need to take action now, before the public decides to take their money elsewhere and spend it there.  Please sign this.  We are not asking to abolish the noise ordinance, or to make it excessively late . . . But an update with specific guidelines is needed immedietly.
