In our efforts to save the lives of LDS children and families from suffering as we have using this petition, we kept the effort focused exclusively in Utah. We purposely pursued a discussion between LDS, as is evidenced by the comments found in our Facebook posting of the petition, viewing candid discussion as the most productive path to change. We would of preferred to of had LDS Church leaders become friends of our efforts to protect children from life changing and life threatening abuse, as it is the faith of our fathers and our heritage. At this point it doesn't appear that is going to happen. It for sure never would of happened if we simply obeyed their leadership on how bullying is addressed in the Church and said nothing uncomfortable. The Stop It Foundation is now pursing policy change in the form of legislation far beyond the LDS church with a new petition. In time as our efforts pick up speed, people in places like New York City and Alabama will be asking about what happened to the Bresee family, and unfortunately LDS Leaders will not be found to be friends of protecting children from abuse in the answers they discover.
