We know that many of you have risked personal confrontation from those you go to church with, family and church leaders to sign this petition, and for that we praise the courage you have shown by valuing the safety of children over your own personal comfort. It is your courage that is bringing others out of their fear to also speak up against a problem that has gone on for far too long. It is your courage that will allow for a meaningful discussion protecting children from abuse to be had without "Liability Concerns" dominating that discussion. Because we have the truth behind us, it is your courage that will persuade LDS leaders to leave 'Good Legal Advice' behind, replacing such with policy based on moral concepts that will make the LDS Church a safer and more welcoming place for its most vulnerable children. It is your courage that will persuade LDS leaders to make the LDS church a light and example to others on the Bully Awareness issue, helping to inspire a cultural change which will better protect all of God's children in society at large. Spreading the conversation is truly the next step in this effort. It is only through this conversation that the indifference brought with ignorance will be replaced with genuine understanding and compassion for those who are being bullied.
