There are countless t-intersections in Brunswick that have either no signage or unsafe signage (eg. 'giveway' signs). These t-intersections are extremely dangerous for bike riders, pedestrians, people with families and other groups simply trying to move safely around the streets where they live. Motorists are not required to stop at these points so they can drive straight through, endangering the lives of others. One particular spot is right next to my daughter's crèche- and a few "near-misses" have led me to start this petition. The t-intersection is has a 'giveway' sign and the (barely legible) white line is painted PAST the point at which families cross the street. It is unfathomable why this has been done but it is a matter of time before a child is injured at this point. And this is not uncommon. There are streets like this across Brunswick which are accidents waiting to happen. It is a very dangerous situation with a very easy solution- install stop signs and improve line-markings on the road! Emails and phone calls to Moreland council have gone unanswered.
