Keep Hosken Reserve accessible for all
Sep 21, 2021

Many Moreland councillors seem to be supporting a masterplan for Hosken Reserve that the community has loudly and clearly rejected. Despite a council decision that the northern part of the reserve should be shared, the masterplan establishes the vast majority of the reserve as sports fields, with marginal leftover areas for residents squeezed in between. Please sign our new petition to tell Moreland councillors that you want them to:
-listen to residents and ratepayers
-protect green space
-support active recreation and wellbeing
-ensure access is inclusive and caters to all abilities
-show that residents' quality of life matters to them

Our new petition summarises five concrete changes to the plan that we have developed in consultation with our community. Its really important to have a read, sign if you support the changes, and share this widely with Moreland residents and ratepayers both on and off social media.

You can read more about the draft masterplan on the council website

Its also crucial to contact Moreland City councillors to tell them why the masterplan doesn't work for you and your family. I know that many people have already taken time out of their lives to participate in the consultation process, but the message is not getting through from the council bureaucracy to councillors and councillors need to hear directly from residents and ratepayers, otherwise they will vote in favour of the masterplan on 13 October.

So please sign and share the new petition, https://me.getup.org.au/p/ReservesForAll, and contact Moreland councillors before 13 October.

Thanks, from all of us at www.savehoskenreserve.com/
