Morehead City Waterfront - Say No to Eminent Domain!

The Issue

My name is Dottie Benjamin, and my life is deeply tied to Morehead City’s waterfront. I may not live within the city limits, but my livelihood, stability, and sense of home are rooted here. Places like Red Fish Grill, Olympus Dive Center, and other small businesses aren’t just buildings—they are where we work, connect, and build our futures.

The proposed use of eminent domain threatens to tear this community apart. It puts my job, my financial security, and my happiness at risk, along with the livelihoods of countless others. This waterfront is the heart and soul of Morehead City, and once it’s gone, it can never truly be replaced.

What’s at stake is more than just a series of addresses; it’s the community’s heart and soul. I urge you to see beyond jurisdictions and join voices with friends, tourists, and neighbors who treasure Morehead City’s waterfront legacy. We need to present a united front showing our support transcends city limits.

Please stand with us. Sign this petition to protect the Morehead City waterfront, the people who depend on it, and the legacy that makes this place so special. Your voice matters more than you know.
