Yesterday so many people went out #walkingfortourettes #runningfortourettes and #cyclingfortourettes to help with our fight, to try and get the signatures we so desperately need. It rained so hard yesterday, people were tired, they were in pain, they had blisters but this doesn’t even come close to the tiredness and pain that someone living with Tourette’s feels daily!
It meant so much to not only me but also all the other families in the north west who are struggling right now to get medical support for their children diagnosed with #tourettes. For a condition that is so common, it affects 1 in 100 children, the support available is appalling. Since being discharged in March from Alder Hey we as a family have been passed from service to service to service, each time being told how sorry they are that they cannot help but it’s not their speciality but surely someone must be able to help. Well actually no one can help and we also cannot get referred elsewhere for help. What’s even more shocking is that we are not an isolated case, this is happening right now to not only my family but hundreds of others.
We want to change this, we want a specialist centre here in the north west. I have created a petition to push for this, we need at least 10,000 signatures before we even get noticed. Please if you don’t do anything at all today, please share the petition and encourage others to sign. Believe me when I say this .... I would do it for you, if you were in my shoes #togetherwearestronger
