Good News for Building 10 and Future Plans!

As some of you may already know, progress has been made. UNBC has agreed to switch half of the gendered washrooms in the Teaching and Learning Building to gender-neutral by changing the signage. 

This is an important step that immediately improves the situation. Furthermore, I have personally spoken with the Office of Equity and Inclusion about future renovations to make washrooms accessible and inclusive of transgender people. This is a long-term project that UNBC is planning on creating an advisory council made up of community members. I am optimistic that the community support demonstrated in the past few weeks and the current changes in Building 10 will create forward momentum.
