There is a need for a a dog park to help our community safely exercise their dogs as well as a safe place for off the leash training, and a place to  hold special events for dogs.  Further, many disabled citizens and senior citizens are not physically able to exercise their dogs,and having a dog park where dogs can play with others and run off their energy would be a great benefit to them. Many of us consider our dogs as 4 legged children and want to offer them the same benefits as Mooresville  Parks and Recreation, has provided for our human children. The Park Department has done a wonderful job of creating a park that families and people of all ages can enjoy. We have paved walking trails,, basket ball goals, horse shoe games,playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields etc. There is just one thing missing.  We do not have a place for people and their four legged  friends to gather and play. Off the leash dog parks have spread across the nation.  The park will bring people together and create a greater sense of community. Dog owners can share information with each other.There are a lot of fund raising ideas including dog photo ops, doggie walk-a-thons, scratch cards, funding from local businesses, sell bricks and sell benches with the name of beloved pets who have passed.  

 I THINK THIS IS AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME.......................... RELEASE THE HOUNDS!
