MOONTON: Remove Bots From Ranked Matches and Bring Back Real 5v5
O problema
We, the players of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, are calling on MOONTON to conduct a serious and transparent investigation into ranked matchmaking and the possible use of AI-controlled players/bots in matches intended for real players.
There is growing concern among players from different regions that bots may be used to fill matches when there are not enough human players available at a given moment.
Players frequently report encountering extremely recent-looking accounts, highly unusual or repetitive behavior, players seemingly incompatible with the level of the match, and matches where only one or two members of each team appear to behave like genuine human players.
We are not claiming that every suspicious player is necessarily a bot, nor are we claiming that MOONTON deliberately manipulates wins and losses.
The problem is the lack of transparency.
Players do not know whether they are playing alongside or against AI, why AI might be used, or what criteria determine how ranked matches are filled.
What do we want?
1. Remove bots from ranked matches
Ranked matches should be played by real human players.
If AI is necessary for specific game modes or exceptional circumstances, it should not silently replace human players in ranked competition.
2. Full transparency regarding AI
MOONTON should clearly disclose:
Whether bots are used in ranked matches;
Which game modes use them;
Which ranks can encounter them;
Under what circumstances they are deployed;
Why they are deployed;
How many human players can be present in a match containing AI;
How players can identify when they are playing with or against AI.
3. Investigate the matchmaking system
We want an official investigation into the reports being made by the community.
If the players being reported as bots are actually human players, MOONTON should explain what systems or circumstances are producing this behavior.
If they are bots, players deserve to know why they are being used in ranked matches and why this is not clearly disclosed.
4. Ranked matches should actually measure skill
Losing is not the problem.
Players accept losing.
The problem is feeling that a ranked match is no longer determined by an actual competition between two teams of players.
Going from 10 stars to 12 stars and later returning to 10 stars in Mythic is not, by itself, proof of manipulation. Win and loss streaks happen naturally.
However, if ranked matches are being artificially filled with AI, then the ranking system can no longer reliably represent a player's competitive performance.
We want our wins and losses to come from real matches.
5. Matchmaking must be treated as a priority
New heroes, hero revamps, maps, events and skins can all be valuable additions to the game.
But new content does not solve a broken matchmaking experience.
A hero rework does not solve the problem if players continue entering matches that do not appear to contain ten real players.
A new map does not solve the problem.
New cosmetics do not solve the problem.
Anti-cheat measures are necessary, but addressing cheating should not mean ignoring other problems affecting competitive integrity.
Matchmaking is part of the core game.
We are NOT asking for free wins
This campaign is not asking MOONTON to give players easier victories.
We do not want weaker opponents.
We do not want free stars.
We do not want an easier ranked climb.
We want the opposite.
We want fair competition.
We want to lose because another player played better.
We want to win because we played better.
We want our ranked stars to represent actual competitive performance.
Our demands
We ask MOONTON to:
1. Officially investigate community reports regarding bots in ranked matches.
2. Publicly disclose whether bots/AI are used in ranked matches.
3. Explain what criteria determine when AI is placed into a match.
4. Remove bots from ranked matches, or implement a clear and transparent policy that informs players whenever AI is used.
5. Provide enough information for the community to understand how ranked matchmaking works.
6. Treat matchmaking quality and competitive integrity as fundamental parts of the Mobile Legends experience.
Why are we creating this petition?
Because Mobile Legends is a team-based game.
What makes 5v5 special is knowing that there are five people on your side and five people on the opposing team, all trying to win.
We want real 5v5 back.
We are not asking MOONTON to give us victories.
We are asking MOONTON to give us a ranked environment that we can trust.
If there are no bots in ranked matches, explain what the community is experiencing.
If bots are being used, be transparent with players and remove them from competitive ranked gameplay.
We don't want free wins.
We don't want artificial losses.
We want real matches.
