STOP THE BISON SLAUGHTER!

The bison is one of our great icons and a part of our American heritage. Once of extraordinary numbers, the bison has been slaughtered to near extinction. A short ban on killing them allowed these great beasts to reach numbers of around 5,500 in Yellowstone Park. Yet, this remains a tragically low number compared to the millions which naturally roamed the plains for thousands of years.
The Yellowstone bison are routinely shot and killed when they stray past the borders of Yellowstone Park in search of food. They are in direct competition with big cattle ranchers. Cattle ranches are big enough. The bison was here first and are being pushed out -- their last remaining numbers may be allocated to zoos and farms.
A new deal will allow the mass slaughter of hundreds of wild bison migrating from Yellowstone National Park with only 25 animals spared and given to American Indian tribes who want to start new herds.
Send a message to Montana Governor Steven Bullock to stop the slaughter and protect our American bison!
