Montana Governer; Call off the Dept. of Livestock from Hazing Wild Bison!

Hundreds of America's last wild buffalo are currently enjoying time on cattle-free public lands around Horse Butte, in the Hebgen Basin. This is as it should be and things need to stay this way. They also enjoy private lands registered to as a Bison's sanctuary, DOLeven haze bison off these private lands!

Wild buffalo will soon begin to give birth to the next generation of wild American buffalo. As you know, calving season is an extremely sensitive time for the buffalo, yet come May 15th, the Department of Livestock will begin hazing operations to force all wild buffalo out of Montana.

I am asking you, Governor Schweitzer, to please not allow this to happen. Please stop the DOL's plans to haze wild buffalo out of the Hebgen Basin and let the buffalo follow their own instincts to return to their summer ranges.

The majority of land in the Hebgen Basin is free from cattle all year long, and there is absolutely no reason that the DOL should be sent in to chase and abuse wild buffalo! There are only three private cattle ranches that bring in cattle for a few short summer months - many from out of state - and these cattle ranches are the only places where the DOL should have any dealings.
