The University of Montana has seen enrollment decline by 21% in the last half decade.  As a result, budgets have been slashed and students are no longer able to timely complete their educational requirements as classes are offered less frequently.  Although Royce Engstrom took steps to combat declining enrollment,  the University of Montana needs a dynamic leader that can attract potential students.  With the news that Royce Engstrom is stepping down, Montana has the opportunity to catch a rising star in Denise Juneau.

As Superintendent of Public Instruction, Denise Juneau implemented Graduation Matters, a program that has increased high school graduation in Montana to the highest rates on record.  The result of increasing graduation rates is about a $6 million annual boost to Montana's economy.  She also helped pass and implement bully-free laws that give Montana students more ways to stand up to hate.  Denise would be a breath of fresh air that could inspire students and confidence in administrators.  What better person to attract Montana students to the University of Montana than the person who just ensured that they graduated.  The University of Montana needs Denise Juneau.  Please sign this petition to encourage the Board of Regents to hire Denise Juneau as our new President.
