Our neighborhoods are under attack. Historic homes are being bulldozed to make way for mini-mansions 3 to 4 times the size of the surrounding homes - with no meaningful community input. We need to strengthen our historic protection and zoning restrictions to preserve the unique charm of our neighborhoods. Property owners have rights, but they need to be balanced against the rights of other neighborhood residents.

There are currently 6 demo permits before the Hisoric Preservation Commission, including a beautiful historic Craftsman bungalow at 118 North Alta Vista. There is no real protection for these homes, we need to strenghten our historic preservation regulations!
