Please sign our petition today! The Monroe Education Childcare Academy is on the Board's agenda for March 12, 2015. The Board will be voting on this day to keep MECA open or to close its doors for good. MECA parents and supporters are asking the Board to keep MECA open. This academy has flourished since opening in 2012, with enrollment growing each year. Currently, 42 children are enrolled in the academy and district employees pay tuition for their child to attend. MECA provides the following:

• A safe and caring place for our children to be nurtured and cared for.
• It gives our children a sense of belonging and brings the community closer.
• It provides a cost savings to our school district by giving teachers the opportunity to return from maternity leave sooner.
• A curriculum based learning environment.
• Increases staff and community morale.
• Many MECA families are also Monroe families and will be enrolled in our school system in the future.
