The Issue
On July 13, 2020, Monroe City Council in Ohio had a Zoom meeting to discuss a mandatory mask ordinance. The meeting was live-streamed to the public. One council member, Tom Callahan, made a blatant Islamophobic remark, comparing a mask mandate to people being forced to, "wear headscarves".
