As a parent of a monkwood primary school child picking up my son yesterday I saw what must be every parents worst nightmare, a child get ran over by a car outside the school gates. My heart sank! The child is now in hospital being cared for and is very fortunate to be alive. 
I've wondered for years why our school has never had a crossing guard at any of the 3 road side entrances but most other schools do, this is unacceptable and we need to do something now!

I’d like monkwood primary school to hire a crossing guard to help children cross the road safely At lease outside the main school gates where the reception is, this is where most of the youngest children enter and exit school and they are most vulnerable!
