As residents of Pinecrest and surrounding areas,
we are creating this petition because the hours of operation for the pickleball courts at Suniland Park significantly limit the community's engagement with this fast-growing sport. The USA Pickleball Association reported a 650% increase in membership since 2013 (source: USA Pickleball Association).

Despite this growing interest, the operating hours for pickleball courts at Suniland Park are not aligned with the community's needs. The limited hours pose significant barriers for busy citizens who want to participate in this inclusive, cross-generational sport outside of traditional working hours. This hinders not just our love of the game, but also our quest for active, healthy lives.

Let's encourage our park and local government to modify the operating hours of the pickleball courts at Suniland Park. By doing so, we will open up more opportunities for users of all ages to experience this fun and rapidly growing sport, and nourish a healthy, engaging community.
