Current laws allow for a scenario where vehicles making a right turn at a traffic light junction continue to face oncoming traffic. The green light for drivers does not necessarily mean the stop of oncoming traffic, leading to potentially hazardous situations.  In the present situation often vehicles turning right get stranded amid heavy traffic or resort to dangerous manoeuvres like zigzagging through oncoming vehicles, risking the safety of everyone on the road. Changing the Highway Code to provide a safer traffic light system, where a green signal ensures red lights for oncoming traffic, would help alleviate this issue. This modification makes turns safer and adheres to the standards followed in many other countries. Let's make our streets safer for everyone.
